Good job Mr. Wennberg.
Here is the new plan- Got a problem with criminals and drugs? Just decriminalize the drugs, problem solved. Diversion for everyone. Got a problem with that- diversion for you too...

I remember reading about this when I lived in Massachusetts. I also seem to recall stories of gang members trying to move into rural areas of Vermont. If memory serves, I think the citizenry in those rural communities took matters into their own hands, and drove out the interlopers. A rare positive case of citizens taking the law into their own hands.

When it comes to our rural communities, our best protection is that almost everyone owns a gun and knows how to use it.

Jon. Citizens practicing self defense is not the same as citizens taking the law into their own hands. People have no duty to be victims. Self defense is not Vigilantism. I know the left wants everyone to be a victim of something but you have no legal or moral obligation to enjoin them. Folks can always call the police- they arrive in minutes(if you're lucky) when seconds matter.

Quotes

  • Only a crisis—actual or perceived— produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. That, I believe, is our basic function: to develop alternatives to existing policies, to keep them alive and available until the politically impossible becomes politically inevitable .... (Milton Friedman)
