... you know, because sparklers kill. I stopped at one of the Phantom Fireworks stores last week and couldn't find anything worth buying. Not even for my five year old. My kids have pretty high standards, though. Once you've spent a few big fireworks holidays like New Years, Christmas, Easter, Weekends, etc. in Asia, you sort of lose interest in class C fireworks. Besides that, it's not so much fun celebrating your freedom by lighting off illegal fireworks. The irony kind of takes the fun out of it. It's much better to watch government officials light government approved and strictly regulated fireworks off on your behalf in a government approved manner under a government controlled setting. Enjoy the show. But not too much. And when the show is over, watch out for the government checkpoints and mobile tax collection units (i.e.speed traps). They're there to help you calibrate your freedom and they have a zero tolerance policy.

Wonder if it's OK if we buy local:

Thank god they are not out looking for overweight trucks on Route 9 that are going too fast for the turn and may crash.
...or crack dealing hoodlums, that have multiple mothers of their multiple, unsupported kids.
sarcasm off.
Bennington Police have more important things to deal with, period.

Wonder who would be a cop in VT?
Not exactly a lot of crime, if you don't count speeding and sparklers.
Ask any Vermont cop about his last felony arrest. Go ahead.
