It isn't as bad as those in the political-media complex want you to think it is.
At a time when there exists a sense of crisis over the economy, fuel prices and many other issues, this reinforces the odd, two realities of life in the United States today: The way we are, and the way we think we are. The way we are could use some work, but overall, is pretty good. The way we think we are is terrible, horrible, awful. Possibly worse.

Democrats are fatally flawed on this one and the Republicans seem to be doing their best to throw away the most advantageous political issue they've had in many years, a red hot potato, third rail political issue that could jolt the Democrats right out of mucho seats in Congress. Republicans can solidify their claim to being the party of the "Middle Class American" with this issue if they only do the right thing.
When will McCain's Campaign get the message? Proves to me he's "out of touch", just like Howard Dean says he is; I can't believe that I agree with Howard Dean. Oops, I forgot, Johnny Mac just wants to "get along" with the folks that brought us this energy fiasco. Now, Howard, be nice to Johnny, he sees us as just one big happy family.
