More on the unpleasantness between those who would take down Douglas. Funny how you don't hear anyone saying that the candidate who gets the most votes should be the winner.

Actually, the Vermont Senate passed a bill that called for the president to be determined by the candidate with the most popular votes http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/pages/states.php?s=VT. Note that one of the sponsors of the bill in the House was Progressive David Zuckerman.

Yes, the legislature passed such a bill and Governor Douglas has vetoed it. Obviously, the Gov likes the current state of affairs whereby the end game can be decided by a select few. Interesting!
