By making globalization an all-purpose scapegoat for economic
complaints, many "progressives" are actually undermining the most
powerful force for eradicating global poverty.

My only criticism about the article is that it focuses on the macro level and not the micro. My wife and I sell internationally over the internet and benefit directly by having access to a global marketplace without any goverment red tape. The internet can be a great leveler for anyone wanting to sell to the rest of the world and individual seller enpowerment should be the goal here. Vermont benefits a lot here, though you would never know this from all the anti-globalization talk coming from the local population. Statewide broadband is a must if VT is to ever break free from it's "local" mindset.
