One of Vermont's signature industries takes it on the chin in the New York Times.  Headline:

Sweet, Tricky, Sticky (and Not From Vermont)

All about maple syrup from Connecticut.

To add insult to injury, the first line in another story in the same day's issue of the Times starts

The maple syrup you poured on your waffles this morning probably came from Quebec, where more than 75 percent of the world's supply is produced.

The secret's out. With competitors to the north and south, and the New York Times against us, we'll never be the same.
