On Wed. several out of state papers (here, here, and here) ran an article about how Vermont just signed a two-year $6.3 Million contract with a Montreal company to modernize our tax operations. The company, CGI Group Inc. , will convert the State's mainframe tax accounting applications to one based on Oracle's Taxation Management software. You would think spending that kind of money to hire an out of state firm would catch the attention of the local press. Maybe the whole "buy local" mantra only matters when you are buying vegetables? Or, maybe it really is wise to buy the best product at the best price wherever the product might come from?

Yes, how come there was no uproar?
Somebody is sure to catch &*&%$* over this, right?
