The Snelling Center for Government is, of course, the estimable Vermont non-profit whose mission is, simply put, to promote sound and efficient public policy. It does this by (in its own words):
* offering the premier leadership development programs in Vermont;
* engaging the public in issues facing Vermont; and
* consulting on projects to make government and government programs more effective.
Among the Center's current initiatives is a survey on Vermonter's attitudes on:
" ... whether two year or four year terms of office are in the best interest of Vermont, and which approach is most effective in advancing good governance."
To advance this project, the Center is conducting an on-line survey. Mr. Charles Smith of the Center asked if we would provide visitors to this site with a link that would allow them to participate in the survey. The link is here. We encourage you to make your feelings known, as several panelists did at our recent symposium.
You have until sometime in January -- and the link will be up until then -- but, in case you'd forgotten, Christmas is coming. Might as well do it now.

4 year terms is the answer.allow them time to do something and hen hold them accountable.Rod Hill
