Students at my employer have decided that livable wages on campus is the spring protest topic du jour. I applaud student activism and idealism, even though I happen to disagree with their choice of concerns (I'd be much more pleased with student activism if they were trying to help alleviate suffering and end the slaughter in Darfur).
The Freeps article on the student protest uses it as a springboard to discuss the concept of livable wages, but only with its proponents (including some colleagues of mine). Usually, journalists try to get the other side of the story, but apparently no one opposes livable wages. Several people who do (including me), outlined their concerns here (scroll down to page 8).
